Tockwith U9s v Bichopthorpe

Tockwith U9s hosted Bishopthorpe in a thrilling encounter to mark the start of the season.
Honours remained even after the first two 'nail biters' ended, 4-4 and 0-0. After the oranges and refreshments, on a glorious morning, the green hoops found their shooting boots to edge in front.

Game 1: Tockwith 4 - 4 Bishopthorpe
A stunning fightback earned the home side a draw. Goals for Bishopthorpe came early in the game while the Tockwith side settled into their first game. Going behind after much of the play seemed to spur on the green and whites. Pressure and dominance from the home side finally payed off with an equaliser in the laast minute.

Game 2 : Tockwith 0 - 0 Bishopthorpe
Early nerves from the young home side showed as last ditch defending kept them in the game. Debutant Amelia found her feet and contributed to a spirited fightback. Tockwith everntually crafted the best chance of the game as the striker dribbled from midfield to shoot narrowly wide.

Game 3: Tockwith 3 - 0 Bishopthorpe
Good organisation and team work were the main reasons for the comfortable win. A slight change of formation created space and bite in midfield. Strength in defence gave a solid foundation for slick passing. Three clinical finshes saw off the visitors.

Game 4: Tockwith 3 - 3 Bishopthorpe
Battling hard the Tockwith team ground out a fine result. The attacking strength of Bishopthorpe gave rise to an early lead. Tables and tides turned in the second half as the entire Tockwith team went on the offencive. Battling hard and coming from two goals behind, the youngsters drew level.

New Season Starts

Players and coaches returned, revitalized, with new boots and new strips to the new green grass of the Tockwith Sports field on Saturday. Footballs flew, nets bulged, whistles sang and the ketchup oozed.

A recent make over has given our site a refresher. The changes will hopefully improve communication between visitors, players, coaches and parents.

No surprises from the Club AGM

There were smiles and cheers all round as the current encumbent committee members were elected into office for another year. Mike Corbett, the Club Chairman, now into his forth term in office, stated for the record...

The club is growing from strength to strength. With over 150 members enjoying their football, it's a pleasure getting out of bed on a freezing cold wet morning.
